ABOUT THE ARTIST
Annika Persson
Annika Persson is a Swedish photographer and artist based in Åhus. After more than 25 years behind the camera, her photographic way of seeing remains an important foundation in the art she creates today — even though the finished works are not traditional photographs.
The process often begins with her own photographs: flowers from her garden, details from nature, light, colour and small moments that catch her eye. From there she explores new compositions with contemporary digital and generative tools, using technology as an artistic tool rather than as the goal.
Each image is then worked and reworked in Photoshop. Colour, form, texture, light and atmosphere are refined until the work carries her own visual language and the feeling she is looking for.
“The finished work grows through my eye, my feeling and my way of working with colour, form and atmosphere.”
The result exists in the space between photography, painting and digital art — personal, carefully developed images often inspired by flowers, gardens, women and the quiet stories found in everyday life.
